Confident decision making for an uncertain future: A case study of RMIT university

For RMIT, one of Australia’s leading universities , the changes and uncertainty 2019 brought meant that business-as-usual planning was no longer fit for purpose. Moreover, a critical step would need to be the alignment of their teams collective insights and rich diversity of opinions on what that uncertainty looks like for RMIT. As a central part of guiding the university’s strategic vision for research and operations, the Research and Innovation (R&I) portfolio engaged with us to meet these challenges and improve the focus and productivity of their strategic planning with the help of our purpose-built, six-week scenario planning Sprint. In the detailed case study below, SJS Strategy was able to facilitate deep collaboration and convergence in perspectives from the diverse R&I Portfolio team and key stakeholders to develop extreme, yet relevant and plausible scenarios.
